Actually, you too can create pencil drawings of Spiderman of your own. Either a realistic Spiderman in color drawing or a black Spiderman...It's so easy once you know how to create circles and ovals in 3D perspectives.

"Who am I? - I'm Spiderman..." says Peter Parker. Since my childhood, Spiderman is one of my favorite superheroes. I'm sure you too love this superhero. The Spider-man movies are so fantastic. Even my children love to watch them almost everyday! You might notice many important lessons from the stories.

You might be wondering how to draw Spiderman. Here, I'm gonna show you a simple step by step lesson on how to draw the amazing spiderman in black suit like the Venom.

You can either read OR watch my step-by-step Spider-man pencil drawing technique below...

Enjoy!

Pencil Drawings of Spiderman - Step No. 1

For beginners, I would suggest you to have a still 2D picture or poster of Spiderman. Hover your mouse over these pictures to get one...

Take a piece of paper (preferably a cheap A4 photocopy paper) and a drawing pencil set. (Do you know what is a drawing pencil set? Click here)

Select a nice place to sit. Make a cup of coffee or hot chocolate if you want.

Ready? Go to the next step...

Pencil Drawings of Spiderman - Step No. 2

Take a HB or B grade graphite pencil. Use it to draw sketches of your Spiderman pencil drawing. Start by sketching the whole figure of Spiderman first.

Pencil Drawings of Spiderman - Sketch 1

Look at your still Spiderman picture and start from his head. Sketch an inverted pear-shaped oval for his head. Create horizontal and vertical lines to position his eyes.

Continue drawing pencil sketches of his body, shoulders, arms, hands, legs and feet all with oval shapes. Sketch circles for all joints such as elbows and knees.

Then, stop looking at your pencil drawings of Spiderman and compare it with your subject.

Ask these 2 important questions:-

1. Does it has a correct size to be on your paper?
2. Does it has a correct angle according to your Spiderman picture?

If the answer is NOT to any of these questions...Erase your drawing pencil sketch, and re-sketch your pencil drawings of Spiderman according to the correct size and angle.

Okay? Finish drawing your pencil sketch of Spiderman? Let's continue to the next step...

Erase gently so that you can see only the trace of your drawing pencil sketch... Based on the trace, re-draw the outline according to your Spiderman's figure.

Pencil Drawings of Spiderman - Toning 1

Use either 2b or 4B grade of graphite pencil. Create shadow on your drawing pencil sketch. If you are a right-handed person, start from your left and vice versa.

Smudge your pencil strokes with your finger based on the body contour. Since you are creating a black and white pencil drawing, the red and blue spidey suit will become a grey and black suit!

You can concentrate on the right thigh first (if you're right-handed, of course). Use a 4B pencil at different pressure to create black to grey tone color based on the body contour and lighting.

Use 6B pencil to create darker tones.
